Iran Armenia and India Hold Second Round of Trilateral Consultations

During these consultations, held in New Delhi, the delegations from the three countries emphasized the need to strengthen close cooperation within the framework of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) and highlighted the strategic role of Chabahar Port in this regard.
The meeting, which took place on Thursday, 12th December (22 Azar in the Iranian calendar), was led by J.P. Singh, Joint Secretary of the Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan Division at India’s Ministry of External Affairs; Anahit Karapetyan, Head of the Asia and Pacific Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia; and Hashem Ashja zadeh, Director-General of the South Asia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the consultations, the delegations reiterated the importance of strengthening close collaboration under the North-South Corridor framework and underscored the pivotal role of Chabahar Port in this context.
The Armenian delegation also briefed the participants on the "Crossroad of Peace" initiative.
Building on the outcomes of the previous trilateral consultations held in April 2023 in Yerevan, the parties discussed connectivity initiatives, participation in multilateral forums, and regional developments. They also explored ways to promote trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges while enhancing people-to-people connectivity.
