Dr. Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, announced following his meeting with His Excellency Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, that friendly nations can trust in the continuity of safe and secure trade.
During this meeting, held on the sidelines of the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi, the two sides discussed developments in West Asia, with a particular focus on the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz. In his remarks, Dr. Araqchi emphasized that Tehran welcomes any positive role India can play to help establish peace and de-escalate tensions in the region.
He further assured that despite the sensitive conditions in the region, nations friendly to Iran can remain confident in the security of trade routes and the continuity of economic exchanges.
