Mr. Mohammad Mosadegh, the First Deputy of the Judiciary of Iran, traveled to New Delhi (11-13 March 2023) to attend the judicial meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. He thanked the hospitable Indian hosts and announced that the process of Iran's full membership in the organization had been completed and is on the verge of finalization after being approved by the Islamic Consultative Assembly. He believed that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has great potential for developing cooperation among its members and combating illegal and repressive actions of some governments and accordingly the expansion of justice and resistance against repressive actions of some governments should be on the organization's agenda. The Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the countries that has suffered the most from illegal and oppressive sanctions by the United States, declares that justice is not what repressive governments claim, but it is something that includes equal rights for all human beings. Therefore, he emphasized the need for standing firm against repressive actions of some governments and reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to develop judicial cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the fields of counterterrorism, drug trafficking, and so on. Mr. Mosadegh also met with his counterparts from India, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan on the sidelines of the conference.
