The 46th Anniversary of the Victory of the Islamic Revolution held in New Delhi

The 46th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in India was held in New Delhi with the participation of Indian officials ambassadors diplomats and military attaches from various countries.

This event took place on Monday,11 February 2025 (22 Bahman 1403) with the presence of Indian officials, ambassadors, diplomats, and military attachés from different nations, as well as a number of Iranian residents in New Delhi. In addition to diplomats from various countries, public figures, academic elites, journalists, and members of the Indian media also attended.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Dr. Iraj Elahi, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India in New Delhi, highlighted the achievements of the Islamic Revolution in various fields and the challenges it has encountered. He emphasized that, thanks to the resolve and determination of the Iranian nation, the Islamic Republic has continued to grow and has attained significant successes. He noted Iran’s considerable advances in healthcare, education, science, technology, human rights, security, and defense, adding that the country is now a pioneer in areas such as nanotechnology and biotechnology.

Referring to the historical and friendly relations between Iran and India, Ambassador Elahi stated, “Our economic relations are growing in many fields. Last year, Iran and India signed a long-term agreement on operating Chabahar Port—known as the ‘Golden Gateway’—to connect Indian Ocean countries with Central Asia and the Caucasus. Cooperation through the International North-South Transport Corridor is another key example of the strong partnership between our countries.”

Mr. Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary (East) at India’s Ministry of External Affairs, was the special guest of the ceremony on behalf of the Indian government. In his speech, he described the relationship between Iran and India as historic, highlighting their cultural connections, linguistic and ethnic commonalities, and longstanding ties between the two nations. He underscored the importance of further expanding trade, scientific cooperation, tourism, and cultural and sports exchanges.

Following the speeches by the Iranian ambassador and the guest of honor, the Hegmataneh Music Group performed traditional Iranian music, which was warmly received by the attendees.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, a handicrafts exhibition was also held.
